What does this role look like? We are the voice steering today’s design decisions to drive tomorrow’s production success.
This Manufacturing Engineering position will support mechanical Design for Manufacturing and requires in-depth knowledge of Machining, Mechanisms, and mechanical assembly. Firm understanding of engineering drawings, parts lists, CAD coupled with innovative thinking is a must. This position will integrate with mechanical design teams at the beginning of product lifecycle, supporting the entire process from initial concepts to Engineering drawing.
Daily responsibilities
Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team while staying true to production goals and how they influence design decisions.
Provide cost trades during design cycles to describe and defend producibility choices.
Knowledge base should include production level support manufacturing machined details, mechanical assembly, mechanisms assembly and test, and hands on assembly experience.
This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in King of Prussia, PA, and be expected to work in the office.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education.
3+ years of professional experience.
Demonstrated experience with design for producibility (DFx/DFm) principles.
Experience with machining and mechanical manufacturing.
Direct experience as a manufacturing engineer or similar technical authority in production.
Working knowledge of CAD systems and Manufacturing ERP systems, such as CREO and VE-CAMs.
Demonstrated understanding of industry standards for mechanical assembly requirements.
You must be a US Citizen and currently possess and be able to maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Desired Skills
Masters degree.
Ability to influence and lead.
Ability to interface with senior leadership, customers, and various functional organizations.
Proven ability to collaborate across a multi-disciplinary team.
Ability to work self-directed, self-starter and motivated.
Strong, effective, active communication skills including presentation of complex information.

Hands on experience with mechanical assembly processes.
New Process development and experience validating processes for flight applications.
Advanced software skills (VBA, MS Access, Excel macros, JAVA, SharePoint).

Onsite Full-time: The work will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules. Schedules may range from standard 40 hours over five days with some condensed schedules.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off.
