INTEGRA Design Group is celebrating 25 years as a regional Architecture and Engineering firm. We employ over 140 employees across four locations in Puerto Rico, North Carolina, and the Dominican Republic. Our services are specialized, integrated, and grouped into three categories: A/E Design and Ideation, Infrastructure Planning & Design, and Construction Management & Consulting. Our Mechanical Engineering team is currently expanding and adopting new trends in the industry using advanced design and analysis tools, coupled with a highly technical and collaborative approach. INTEGRA is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role involves designing, coordinating, and reviewing mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems for a variety of building projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior engineers and project managers, to contribute to the delivery of high-quality, innovative solutions for our clients. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
– Design and layout HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for building projects – Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for mechanical systems – Perform hydraulic and mechanical calculations and develop technical reports – Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, structural, electrical, and architectural) – Support construction administration including field visits, RFIs, and submittal reviews – Attend project meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors – Stay current with building codes, mechanical design standards, and permitting requirements – Utilize design software including Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and mechanical system design tools – Perform other related duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS
– Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution – 2-5 years of experience in mechanical systems design for buildings – Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification required – Professional Engineer (PE) License strongly preferred – Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD (Revit preferred) – Knowledge of building codes and industry standards – Experience with load calculation software and energy modeling tools preferred – Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment – Experience with federal, municipal, commercial, higher education, or healthcare facility projects preferred – Various project delivery methods including Design-Build and CM-at-Risk preferred – LEED certification or other high-performance building credentials preferred We offer a competitive benefits package, a hybrid working schedule for work-life balance, professional development and mentorship opportunities, and a collaborative, team-centered culture where everyone makes a difference. *Integra Design Group is an equal opportunity employer.*
