Overview
Salary Range:
$65K – $95K (The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location)
Brierley Associates is seeking qualified candidates to support our geotechnical / geological engineering operations based in Denver, CO. The successful candidate would be working on underground design and construction projects, or similar.
Responsibilities
Support tunneling, trenchless, geotechnical and geohazard projects including planning, implementation, field data collection and oversight, data reporting and writing interpretative reports
Perform geotechnical engineering analyses and design calculations for trenchless, tunnels, shafts, foundations, temporary excavation support systems, and soil/rock slopes
Assist with the preparation of construction drawings and specifications for underground infrastructure
Work under the direction of senior engineers and geologists who provide technical oversight
Write technical reports and other documents
Work as integral member of a team on complex, multi-discipline projects.
Periodically visit job sites and carry out short-term field assignments
Qualifications
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English (both written and oral communication)
Ability to work effectively in a team environment with staff, clients, and stakeholders
Ability to manage your time over a number of concurrent assignments and priorities, and meet deadlines
Willingness to work in the field and travel, including to other Brierley offices and job sites, for short-term assignments
Experience with geological field characterization (e.g. field mapping and rock/soil logging) is considered an asset
Familiarity and design experience in geotechnical applications such as retaining walls, slope stability, or shoring design is considered an asset
Requirements
Potential to become a licensed PE in CO within 5 years (PE preferred)
BS in Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering, or closely related engineering field (MS preferred)
0-5 years of industry or consulting experience
Valid driver’s license
