Overview
The Project Controls Engineer will play a critical role in the planning, scheduling, and monitoring of projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project controls, with a focus on data center construction. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Responsibilities
Project Planning: Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with project milestones and deliverables. Cost Management: Assist in monitoring project costs, budgets, and forecasts, and support the implementation of cost control measures. Contract Familiarity: Interpret contracts related to planning and scheduling, ensuring all project activities comply with contractual obligations. Construction Drawings: Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications to support effective project planning and execution. Metrics Development: Create and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess project performance and progress. Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on project status, schedule performance, and potential risks to project management and stakeholders. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and procurement, to ensure effective communication and coordination. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues impacting project schedules and costs, and propose mitigation strategies. Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of project controls processes and tools, enhancing overall project performance. Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Project Controls Engineer, specifically on data center projects. Strong familiarity with contracts as they relate to planning and scheduling. Proficiency in Primavera P6 and other project management software. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications. Experience in developing metrics to support project performance analysis. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
