Senior Property Accountant
to join our accounting team and play a key role in ensuring accurate financial management of our portfolio. Position Summary The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of property-level accounting, including monthly closes, financial reporting, and variance analysis. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, hands-on experience with Yardi property management software, and the ability to collaborate closely with property managers to ensure operational and financial goals are met. Key Responsibilities Manage the full-cycle accounting process for assigned properties, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with company standards and deadlines.
Conduct variance analyses and provide explanations for budget-to-actual differences.
Maintain and update property records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Collaborate with property managers to review financial performance, discuss operating results, and resolve discrepancies.
Monitor cash flow, approve invoices, and oversee tenant billing and rent collections.
Assist with annual budgets, audits, and tax package preparation.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3–5 years of property or multi-location/multi-entity accounting experience, .
Proficiency in Yardi Voyager (or other Yardi platforms) is highly desired.
Strong understanding of GAAP and property management accounting practices.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with property managers and other stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard business software
Salary expectations- $90-95K depending on level of experience and relevancy
