Overview
Our client is looking for an experienced Commercial Property Accountant to join their team. They are experiencing rapid growth and acquiring new properties. The Senior Property Accountant will work directly with the Controller and leadership to handle the full cycle property accounting for their portfolio of properties. Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial properties, including office, retail, and industrial assets. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank reconciliations and accruals. Process and record tenant billings, lease charges, and CAM reconciliations. Monitor and analyze property-level budgets and forecasts; assist in variance analysis and reporting. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to internal stakeholders and external partners. Collaborate with property managers and asset managers to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency. Prepare year-end workpapers and support external audits and tax filings. Utilize
Yardi Voyager
for property accounting, reporting, and lease administration. Assist in system upgrades, process improvements, and automation initiatives. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
CPA
or CPA track preferred. 4+ years of property accounting experience, with a strong focus on
commercial real estate . Proficiency in
Yardi
is required. Solid understanding of GAAP and real estate accounting principles. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience working with cross-functional teams including property management, leasing, and asset management.
