at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions. For more information about the Department of Elementary Education & Literacy, please visit:
https://www.msudenver.edu/elementary-education-literacy/ MSU Denver enrolls over 16,000 students, with nearly 60% first generation and over 55% students of color. Located in downtown Denver, it is a designated Hispanic Serving Institution, an INSIGHT into Diversity Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award winner for 10 consecutive years, and the only Seal of Excelencia certified institution in Colorado. MSU Denver serves the most diverse undergraduate student population in the state, including many first-generation and DACA students. We value applicants with experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a commitment to increasing access for underrepresented groups. Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: teaching assigned classes in person or online, preparing course materials, grading, providing timely feedback, addressing student questions, and offering academic support as needed. Instruction should align with the course syllabus and department policies. Candidates may be asked to teach in various modalities, including in-person, online, or hybrid, and should be adaptable and sensitive to the needs of a diverse student body. Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Literacy or a related field for undergraduate teaching; doctorate for graduate courses. Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching literacy in the K-6 setting. Terms of Employment
Part-time, at-will, per credit hour, usually semester-based. No benefits. Candidates must be able to teach in person upon hire. Salary
