About the Role
PrimECS is seeking an experienced Senior/Lead Structural Inspection Quality Control (SIQC) Engineer to provide quality control (QC) oversight for field inspections and inspection reporting on major structural projects. The selected candidate will play a key leadership role supporting inspection teams, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, and driving continuous improvement in inspection quality and documentation processes. The Senior/Lead SIQC Engineer will collaborate closely with the Program Director, Maintenance and Engineering Teams, and TAMO to contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of the Structural Asset Management Plan. Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of structural inspection manuals, procedures, and compliance standards. Conduct QC reviews of inspection reports, witness and assess field inspections, and perform post-inspection quality reviews. Serve as a technical resource by providing guidance and training on inspection best practices. Support development and implementation of inspection process improvements. Generate reports summarizing inspection findings for program leadership and client teams. Provide recommendations to prioritize maintenance and renewal actions based on inspection data. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables. Support preparation of inspection schedules, staffing plans, and reporting templates. Ensure inspection documentation is accurate, consistent, and compliant with project requirements. Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Structural emphasis preferred). Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in structural inspection and testing, particularly on major transit system structures. Proven experience performing QC of structural inspections related to:
Bridges, tunnels, culverts, and retaining walls Stations, bus garages, parking garages, and similar facilities
Strong understanding of NDT and destructive testing methods, including tools such as the D-Meter and Dye Penetrant. Ability to lead inspection teams, coordinate field activities, and provide constructive feedback. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce detailed, accurate QC reports. Demonstrated experience preparing and presenting inspection findings to engineering and management teams. Required Certifications (for P.E.)
