Overview
This position is open to Alaska Residents only. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Commercial Fisheries is recruiting for an Office Assistant 2 located in Anchorage. The role is located in the Anchorage area with potential telework opportunities after successful training, onboarding, and the probationary period. The selected applicant must be located in the Anchorage/Eagle River/Wasilla/Palmer area and may be required to report to the office as needed.
What You Will Be Doing
This position is critical to the functioning of the Division of Commercial Fisheries and provides administrative support for the Arctic-Yukon-Kuskokwim (AYK) region. Responsibilities include processing bi-weekly payroll, Personnel Action Requests, hiring/separation/seasonal payroll reconciliation, and data entry.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. One year of experience involving clerical tasks (e.g., greeting clients, answering phones, typing, filing, sorting mail, data entry, receiving payments, making change, maintaining logs). Substitution: Education from an accredited college may substitute for the required experience (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours equal one month of experience; 150 hours of vocational education equal one month of experience).
Special Notes
Some positions may require operating a motor vehicle and possessing a valid driver’s license; typing skills may be required. Recruitment and selection may include this requirement.
