Sales Compensation Lead Salary:
$110,000 - $130,000/annually + bonus. Hybrid 3 days a week onsite 2 days from home Location:
New York City ****Must have experience working with calculating commissions A dynamic and results-driven professional is sought to join the Production Compensation Team within a Finance organization. This high-impact role involves managing the end-to-end compensation process for global institutional and intermediary sales teams, while driving innovation, efficiency, and insights to support financial planning and execution. The position requires strong collaboration across functions, including Payroll, Client Billing, Fund Administration, HCM Business Partners, Client Coverage Management, and Technology, to ensure the seamless execution of compensation processes. It also offers the opportunity to apply analytical and technical skills to influence decision-making and lead continuous process and technology improvements. Key Responsibilities:
Own the Process:
Manage timely, accurate, and efficient processing of monthly, quarterly, and annual compensation calculations; prepare and distribute detailed compensation statements to sales teams
Problem-Solve with Precision:
Conduct root-cause analyses for payout variances and provide clear, data-driven explanations to Client Coverage Management
Deliver Insights:
Analyze compensation trends and forecasts to provide actionable insights to senior management
Financial Oversight:
Record and reconcile compensation expense entries in the general ledger, including profit & loss impact and balance sheet reconciliations
Collaborate Across Teams:
Work with HCM, Technology, and Client Coverage Management to ensure accurate plan implementation and issue resolution
Drive Innovation:
Lead the design, testing, and deployment of technology enhancements to optimize compensation processes
Enhance Efficiency:
Identify and execute process and data improvements to enhance accuracy, scalability, and overall workflow efficiency
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
7–10 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or financial analysis
Prior experience with commission-based compensation is required
Experience in asset management or investment advisory is preferred
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; SAP experience is a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to senior stakeholders
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational abilities, and analytical problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Team-oriented mindset and willingness to support a variety of cross-functional initiatives
