The role includes meeting with consumers to assist with SSI/SSDI program applications, follow-up, and referrals for benefits, applications, hearings, claims, and appeals. The specialist also offers community referrals, representation during administrative law judge hearings, and benefit renewal support for Medicaid programs such as QMB, MQMB, and various Medicaid waivers. They make social service referrals based on consumer needs, such as food stamps, TANF, and Medicare prescription assistance. Additionally, the role involves delivering training across programs and departments. This position serves multiple locations including Bastrop, Fayette, and Lee, and collaborates closely with referral vendors as the primary contact. Location:
LaGrange, TX Hourly Salary Range:
$21.46 - $26.21 Differential Details: $1.00/hour - Tenure with BTCS Up to $2.00/hour - Prior Community Center Experience $1.00/hour - Career Ladder Specialty $0.75/hour - Bilingual Join our dynamic team dedicated to improving health and independence. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Human Services or at least 24 credits in a human services field if degree is in another field. Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security applications. Experience working with persons with disabilities in healthcare or rehab settings. Strong computer and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team. SOAR certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months. Valid Texas driver’s license and maintained driving status.
