We’re looking for a seasoned accounting professional to take ownership of a critical expense category—employee compensation—within the firm’s financial reporting. This role blends technical accounting expertise with leadership responsibilities and offers direct interaction with senior executives, including the CFO. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, analytical thinker who thrives in fast-paced environments and can manage complex data sets with precision. You’ll lead a team responsible for compensation-related accounting activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. Key Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor a team responsible for compensation accounting, ensuring high-quality execution of daily tasks. Oversee monthly calculations and reconciliations related to employee bonuses and commissions across multiple business units. Monitor and update compensation models in response to changes in broker agreements. Collaborate with senior leaders to communicate bonus structures and deferred compensation details. Maintain accurate records for equity-based compensation plans and respond to internal requests for plan data. Review and approve journal entries for employee-related expenses, including benefits and insurance. Support budgeting and forecasting processes related to compensation. Partner with internal controls teams to identify and address process gaps. Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Assist with audit requests and provide documentation for internal and external reviews. Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and contribute to special projects as needed. Qualifications:

4–8 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting/Finance or related field. Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, and advanced functions). Exceptional attention to detail and a strong grasp of financial processes. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Comfortable working under tight deadlines and in high-visibility environments. Proven ability to collaborate across departments and build relationships with senior stakeholders.
