Job Summary:
Reporting to the chief financial officer (CFO), the Controller will be responsible for oversight of all finance, accounting and reporting activities. The Controller will lead all day-to-day finance operations and supervise the accounting team.
Key Responsibilities
Finance and Accounting Leadership
Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
Develop and maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, program budgets and actual expenditures
Coordinate and lead the annual audit process
Consistently analyze financial data and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in an accurate and timely manner
Support organizational cash flow
Conduct variance analysis and reporting
Maintain general ledger chart of accounts
Manage and ensure timely month-end and year-end close process
Assist with accounting needs of other family-owned entities
Lead team
Leverage strengths of the current finance team members, help to clarify roles and responsibilities and develop and implement training programs in order to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals
Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment
Qualifications
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA and/or a master’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred
5-7 years of professional accounting and finance experience
Mature leader with a minimum of 5 years of accounting management experience
Strong leadership and communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong knowledge of accounting software and financial management systems, knowledge of Epicor is a plus
