Overview
Job brief: A growing utility construction contractor, based in Lawrenceville, GA seeks an experienced FinancialController to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, financial reporting, job cost reporting, budgets, forecast preparation, as well as development and implementation of internal control policies and procedures. Responsibilities
Manage all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, Job Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Payroll Review and Revenue Recognition Supervise staff of two in the above activities Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances Manage month-end and year-end close processes Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements Manage and forecast cash flow Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting Serve as liaison with 3rd party tax accountant and auditors Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings Provide executive team with financial analysis, identify trends, and develop forecasts Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls Requirements
5+ years of work experience as a Financial Controller with staff leadership 10+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (GAAP) Demonstrated experience with creating and analyzing financial statements Demonstrated experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process Preferred
CPA or CMA certification 2+ years construction job cost accounting experience 2+ years Sage 300 construction accounting software experience Note
