We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to join our Accounting and Finance Team.
The Accounting Manager will have day-to-day responsibility for, and management of, all activities related to the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other accounting functions as needed. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the preparation of daily, weekly and monthly financial reports relating to sales, inventory, cash reporting, and other financial reporting at the direction of the Corporate Controller. They will also be involved with evaluating and investigating account classifications flowing through to the company’s General Ledger.
Owning the month end close process
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
Ensure monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, inventory, and key balance sheet accounts
Supervise cost accounting functions (important for our job-costing and manufacturing orders)
Review journal entries and supporting schedules before month-end close
Train and develop accounting staff, ensuring adherence to internal controls
Support audits by pulling schedules and documentation
Oversee payroll processing and related compliance reporting
Supervise accounting staff
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
Prepare financial statements and reports for senior management
Miscellaneous task/projects as needed
Required Experience and Qualifications
Experience with preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reports that supplement the monthly financial statements provided to senior management.
At least 2 years of successful experience leading and/or physically doing the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions within the accounting department.
Excellent Excel skills (create pivot tables and write formulas ie: VLookup), and the ability to download data from the ERP system into Excel or an ERP report writing tool, and the ability to manipulate and sort large amounts of data in an expeditious and efficient manner.
Experience with GL reconciliations and JE preparations.
Experience in maintaining standard costs and performing cost analysis on multiple levels.
Experience with inventory cycle counting programs and year-end physical inventory observations.
Background in participating in annual budget, forecasting and AOP.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred – not sure but it is a good add and shows me they are dedicated
5+ years of accounting experience, with some experience in a custom or job shop manufacturing environment highly preferred
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Proficiency in accounting and ERP software
