Temple Baptist Church in Cullman, AL is seeking a dedicated, organized, and experienced Preschool Director to oversee the daily operations of our early childhood education center. The Preschool Director will be responsible for the overall management of the school, including leadership of staff, oversight of the facility, financial management, payroll, licensing compliance, and communication with families. This role plays a key part in ensuring a nurturing, safe, and high-quality educational environment for children, while maintaining operational efficiency and strong community relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Staff Management
Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate preschool staff in alignment with state regulations and the school’s philosophy.
Create and maintain staff schedules, ensuring proper classroom coverage and compliance with child-to-teacher ratios
Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative workplace culture.
Conduct regular staff meetings and facilitate ongoing professional development.
Facility Oversight
Ensure the preschool facility is clean, safe, and well-maintained at all times.
Coordinate repairs, inspections, and maintenance as needed.
Working with volunteers to support the weekly children’s and student ministry environments.
Oversee the procurement and management of supplies and equipment.
Develop and manage the school’s operating budget, including tuition collection and expense tracking.
Prepare and manage payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
Monitor financial performance and implement strategies for sustainability and growth.
Ensure compliance with all financial reporting and licensing requirements.
Family Communication & Enrollment
Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and families, fostering strong relationships built on trust and transparency.
Communicate regularly with families regarding school policies, events, and their child’s development.
Manage enrollment, admissions, and waitlists, maintaining accurate student records.
Compliance & Program Quality
Ensure the school adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations including licensing requirements and health/safety standards.
Monitor curriculum implementation and classroom practices to maintain a high-quality learning environment.
Support and evaluate teachers in curriculum planning and child development best practices.
Qualifications:
Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development preferred.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 2 years in a leadership or administrative role.
Strong knowledge of early childhood education standards and licensing regulations.
Proven skills in team leadership, operations management, and financial oversight.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
CPR/First Aid Certification and background clearance required.
