Overview
Hunt Electric, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Designer to join our Preconstruction Team. The Electrical Designer needs to be sharp, driven, and constructability minded. The Electrical Designer will be at the center of planning, design, and prefabrication coordination. This position bridges the gap between design and construction using a combination of tools including software documentation, knowledge of field installation, and collaboration with our project management and VDC teams. Major Duties
Ability to adhere to detailing standards. Build, and edit preconstruction electrical drawings using Bluebeam and Excel. Generate accurate takeoffs, product counts, and support estimating efforts. Put together schedules, worksheets, and documentation correctly. Serve as a go-between with the field, engineering, management, and technical teams. Track progress, timelines, and team deliverables to ensure quality and consistency. Prepare, review, manage all aspects of the preconstruction drawings. Facilitate meetings and manage details. Ability to work independently but also work well within a team setting. Creative and out-of-the-box thinking with attention to detail. Ability to think practically based, relying on field experiences. Experience on real world projects, understanding installation logic. Time management skills. Can read and understand construction drawings and blueprints. Ability to use a computer. Leadership and teaching skills. Other duties or locations as assigned by manager. Minimum Qualifications
2+ years’ experience in electrical installation, preferably as a superintendent or electrical projects. Interest in learning the construction detailing aspect of electrical installation. Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word experience. Knowledge of Autodesk, ACAD, Revit, Navis, or drafting/design. Experience with electrical construction estimating or project management is a plus. Experience in electrical detailing/design including electrical code, contract compliance, submittal review, and specification interpretation a plus. Benefits
