Position Summary

This position is responsible for leading a regional sales team in representing, promoting, and selling Bendix product lines to fleets and independent aftermarket distributors and dealers within an assigned region. The role encompasses both sales and post-sales activities to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term business growth. In addition, the manager may assume direct account responsibility when appropriate to strengthen key customer relationships and support overall regional objectives.

Essential Functions

Develop goals and objectives with Director, Field Sales – North America that are aligned with overall Bendix growth initiatives. Create, implement and manage the growth strategy, sales efforts, profitability and direction of all Bendix products in the assigned region; ensure the team delivers required performance. Be responsible for fleet sales activity in a defined region with focus on OEM specification and aftermarket pull through. Manage all dealership activity for both parts and fleet spec related to fleets in the region. Manage all Bendix distributors and dealers with emphasis on aftermarket parts sales. Identify and manage strategic fleet relationships in the region to pull through fleet spec and aftermarket business. Drive the team to achieve key performance objectives within the specified timeframe against personal and regional targets. Lead the region in driving sales calls at distributor, dealer, and fleet customer levels to promote/sell Bendix product lines. Support promotions with Bendix distributors and dealers to promote/sell product lines to fleet customers. Introduce new products, programs, and promotions at distributor, dealer, and fleet customer levels. Lead the team to call on fleet customers promoting Bendix quality and brand equity. Generate interest with fleet customers to purchase and specify Bendix products and systems. Review current distribution and identify growth opportunities. Create business plans with distributor and dealers annually to target growth areas. Manage Premier Distributor Program within the region and drive accountability. Provide product sales and technical training at distributor, dealer, and fleet customer levels as defined by field sales and service rules of engagement. Drive the team to update all customer reporting requirements in the CRM management tool.

Knowledge

Knowledge of heavy truck industry including OE, OES, Fleet, Aftermarket, Distribution, Service and Training. Comprehensive knowledge of organizational sales policies and procedures. Strong technical acumen of the operation, design and application of the complete air brake system. Ability to present technical information, value selling and ROI analysis to decision makers. Working knowledge of computer-based programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Experience

Minimum of 10 years of experience in account management within the heavy vehicle industry; regular interaction with senior personnel at OEM, Aftermarket and fleet customers. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals. Experience making successful and professional presentations to senior-level personnel. Capable of discussions at all levels of Bendix/Knorr and external customer organizations. Previous management of an external sales team is a plus.

Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent presentation skills. Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, finance, or a related field.

Travel Requirements

Requires 50-60% travel to customer locations, regional meetings and industry events. Position located in Avon, OH and/or home office within one hour of major airport.
