This role’s primary responsibilities include advising and program development. The incumbent will advise diverse undergraduate and graduate students and recent graduates. This is a unique opportunity to support, educate, and engage talented students and alumni worldwide. The USC Career Center represents over 140 academic majors across campus with a wide range of career interests and goals.The ideal candidate will have experience advising students and recent graduates, event planning, developing original career content, and leading student engagement and programming for a Career Engagement team. The incumbent will demonstrate professionalism and strong written and verbal communication skills while advising students and recent graduates on the following career-related topics:* Investigating career paths* Strategizing internship and job searches* Developing a competitive resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile* Preparing for interviews and networking* Negotiating internships and job offers* Maintaining a professional online presence* Educating students on the career development process and managing career transitions**APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

It can be added to the application at the same time/place you add your CV/resume.****Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*** Advise domestic and international students and alumni through in-person, phone, and online appointments* Determine the advising needs of individuals and collaborate to develop action plans* Interpret career assessments including the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory and others* Develop and conduct student and alumni career workshops and events, moderate panel discussions, and create structured activities for groups and individuals* Plan, execute, and market signature in-person and online career events for small and large student and alumni groups* Author original website content, training materials, and other career-related pieces* Collaborate with colleagues throughout the Student Affairs Division, school-based career services offices, academic departments, student organizations, and campus and community partners to actively share resources and develop relevant programming* Utilize career technologies and collaborate with platform vendors to ensure seamless student access to resources* Stay current on career development trends, relevant on and off-campus resources, and related technology by actively engaging and presenting at professional workshops, seminars, and conferences* Track, analyze, and document student engagement data to support reporting and continuous program improvement* Train and supervise graduate and fieldwork interns as needed* Perform other related duties as assigned or requested* In addition, the successful candidate must demonstrate, through ideas, words and actions, a strong commitment to .**Please note:** This position requires working some evenings and weekends and additional duties as assigned.**Preferred Qualifications:****Education:**
Master’s Degree in Student Affairs, Human Resources, Education, Counseling, Social Work, or related field.**Field of Expertise:** Related education and experience in counseling, career services, and advisement**Experience & Skills**:* Two years of experience in counseling, career services, and/or advising* Career advising in a not-for-profit four-year college/university setting* Provide excellent customer service to diverse student and alumni populations* Proven collaboration across multiple academic and departmental departments and academic schools campus-wide* Develop and implement both large and small-scale in-person and virtual programs/events* Balance competing priorities successfully* Strong working knowledge of career development best practices for undergraduate and graduate students* Multicultural competencies: the ability to work with diverse populations, skilled in communicating effectively and professionally using tact and diplomacy* Manage confidential information following FERPA regulations* Possess strong project management and organizational skills* Serve as a motivated and collaborative team player with exceptional multi-tasking skills and a positive attitude* Working knowledge of Handshake, uConnect, PeopleGrove or other career services platforms**Minimum Qualifications:****Education**:
