About the Program: The Sales & Leadership Development program is a multi-year rotational program investing in each trainee’s future by providing exposure to all aspects of the business. The program uses a structured approach to develop an aligned understanding of your skill set and long-term career goals. Live into your dreams.

We’ll pair your passion, skill set, and career goals with our business needs. Upon program completion, you’ll have opportunities in sales, operations management, profit center management, or other paths that fit your goals and the business. Learn the business.

Learning includes on-the-job experience with coaching from experienced managers, courses, and visits with customers and vendors. You’ll learn about warehouse procedures, operations, and sales with mentorship along the way. Here’s a look at what you’ll accomplish in each phase: Phase 1:

Learn about and perform work related to business operations such as receiving/shipping, processing returns, deliveries, and truck maintenance; participate in vendor product knowledge sessions; complete related online courses. Phase 2:

Learn counter sales, assist customers, process sales orders, provide product information, maintain displays; participate in vendor product knowledge sessions; gain experience with residential, commercial, and contractor customers. Phase 3:

Learn sales tasks including pricing/margin management, bids and submittals, product procurement, scheduling; develop vendor relationships; participate in joint sales calls with outside salespersons. Phase 4:

Participate in an in-depth career discussion with your assigned Profit Center Manager to discuss future focus. About You: College degree or equivalent experience. Experience in customer service, sales, management, or leadership roles. Able to drive for company business. As a company business driver, you must: Be at least 18 years old; possess a proper and valid driver’s license; have a driving record that meets company policy. Our ideal candidate will also: Build influential relationships and trust with customers and key vendor partners through open and interactive communication. Build positive working relationships and inspire teamwork with co-workers. Possess excellent communication and listening skills with the ability to persuade. Adapt quickly to changes in the work environment. Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Prioritize work and multi-task effectively. Learn and operate applicable software systems used in day-to-day operations. Demonstrate awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and act to improve skills. Learn to safely operate warehouse material-handling equipment. Read, write, speak, and understand English. Perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Gain knowledge of products sold in the Profit Center. Effectively use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) for email, weekly sales plans, call reports, customer contact files, and data analysis.
