Software Engineer, Legal Operations Full-time | On-site | Palo Alto, CA We’re looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to build secure, mission-critical systems that power modern legal operations. You’ll design and deploy tools that enhance compliance, streamline workflows, and enable data-driven decision-making across complex global environments. This is a deeply cross-functional role that touches every layer of the stack — ideal for an engineer who thrives in fast-paced, high-impact environments where reliability, security, and scalability are paramount. What You’ll Do
Build Legal Infrastructure: Design and deploy tooling to collect, process, and protect sensitive legal and compliance data. Enhance Security & Compliance: Monitor and optimize systems for privacy, integrity, and regulatory adherence. Develop Scalable Systems: Build and maintain robust backend services in Java or Scala, integrating secure data pipelines and APIs. Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with legal operations, product, and engineering stakeholders to translate needs into high-quality technical solutions. Integrate & Automate: Develop APIs, middleware, and DevOps pipelines to connect systems and streamline operations. Optimize Performance: Ensure applications are fast, reliable, and scalable under production workloads. Deploy at Scale: Contribute to CI/CD initiatives and manage deployments on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Who You Are
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer, proficient in both front-end and back-end technologies. Skilled in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js. Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL. Hands-on experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL. Familiar with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP). Deep appreciation for data security, reliability, and operational excellence. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills. Comfortable working in a dynamic, high-stakes environment. Tech Stack
