Job Description: Lead Reliability. Elevate Uptime. Grow People. Picture your day starting with a walk through the plant floor. You check overnight KPIs, align your team on priorities, and confirm that today’s preventive maintenance is sequenced to protect production. A vendor calls about a rush fabrication, you review a critical repair for workmanship, and later you brief leadership on cost controls and a plan to boost efficiency on a key line. By afternoon, you’re coordinating a machine relocation, closing out an accident investigation action item, and prepping annual boiler inspection records for external reviewers. That’s a typical rhythm in this role. What You’ll Lead

Set direction for day-to-day maintenance activities; drive performance through clear goals and measurable results. Own the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program—plan, schedule, and execute to minimize downtime. Accountable for facility utilities and systems: electric distribution, air compressors, boiler operations, and hazardous waste handling. Triage, prioritize, and delegate corrective work; identify worn/failed components and source replacements. Champion safe work practices and LOTO—ensure procedures are consistently followed. Manage maintenance operating costs; continually review repairs for quality and long-term reliability. Upgrade and modify equipment to improve throughput, efficiency, and cost profile. Coordinate outside contractors from bid through construction; partner with machine shops to fabricate parts. Lead plant projects: design/development work, major overhauls, and machine relocations. Collaborate with the Production Manager on machine modifications to boost productivity. Implement and enforce safety programs; participate in accident investigations and support environmental initiatives. Design and deploy machine guarding solutions. Deliver required annual training (lockout/tagout, confined space, fire extinguisher, Hazmat, etc.). Serve as liaison for State/Federal inspectors, the local Fire Department, insurance audits, and annual boiler inspections. Engage frequently with production, printing, admin, and maintenance teams; work with contractors, insurers, and regulatory bodies (OSHA, EPA, AIB, ASI), plus city utilities, water/sewer departments, the fire marshal, and vendors as needed. What You Bring

5+ years of plant maintenance experience. Proven supervisory background and drafting/draftsman experience. Deep knowledge of inline manufacturing equipment and processes; experience with extruders, bag machines, winders, blenders, resin vacuum conveying, and railcar unloading systems. Familiarity with printing and paper converting equipment; conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and lubrication. Ability to calculate gear ratios and pitch; hands-on with welders, grinders, lathes, and cutting equipment. Continuous improvement mindset: Lean, TPM, and 5S application. Proficient with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong diagnostic skills for electrical component failures; basic PLC and VFD experience. Expert-level lockout/tagout (LOTO) experience. Technical Proficiencies

PLC troubleshooting and electrical/mechanical diagnostics. Preventive maintenance plan creation and facilities maintenance. 120/208/240/480V systems; electrical troubleshooting. Coaching, mentoring, leadership, and team development. Blending systems; pneumatics troubleshooting; plastic extrusion. Manufacturing environment experience; blueprint reading; excellent communication.
