Overview

The Chief Human Resources Officer will serve the hospital and group leadership team as a strategic advisor, providing high‑quality consultancy on a diverse set of HR issues; representing hospital or market needs; ensuring implementation of HR processes, systems, policies and programs; leading employee relations matters; and acting as a functional liaison to attract, develop and retain key talent. The CHRO is accountable for oversight and governance of HR processes, systems, and policies across group and hospitals, and for brokered HR service delivery in areas such as talent management, total rewards, talent acquisition and deployment, learning, employee relations, organization design and restructuring. Hospitals under the CHRO responsibility include DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital and DMC Harper-Hutzel Hospital, with a focus on delivering clinical excellence, patient care, and innovative HR leadership to support organizational goals. Responsibilities

Act as a point of contact to the business for all HR services and solutions. Partner with hospital operations CHROs and CoE leaders to identify and implement strategic HR solutions across functional areas, ensuring SLA and KPI targets are met. Collaborate with external HR groups to stay current with industry trends and best practices. Drive the evolution of the HR service delivery model and coordinate sourcing, staffing, onboarding and related HR activities. Lead and develop HR team capabilities; support leadership development and career progression. Leverage data analytics and external insights to design innovative HR solutions aligned to business needs. Implement processes that align with business strategy, talent management, and organizational effectiveness; oversee service delivery against SLAs and governance standards. Coach managers on solving business problems and improving organizational capability and engagement. Drive simplification of non-value-added work and identify opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness. Lead culture change in line with business vision, managing change in a predictable way and achieving objectives. Build external networks to understand market trends and apply leading practices. Develop and manage HR solutions with cross-functional integration and an effective work intake and contracting process. Qualifications

At least 10 years of experience in HR leadership across diverse sizes and business models. Experience partnering with business leaders to design and implement HR strategy; ability to develop senior HR talent and leadership capabilities. Track record leading organizational design, restructuring and strategic workforce planning; experience with large-scale change (M&A, startups, restructuring). Strong background in talent management, acquisition, employee relations, compensation, performance management, and development; experience across multiple industries. Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field; Master’s degree in HR or related field preferred. Strong influencing and communications skills; ability to balance enterprise and business-specific requirements with effective HR partnering. Demonstrated leadership in change management, strategic planning, and organizational development. Ability to manage budgets, interpret financials, and perform cost-benefit analysis. Proven ability to inspire and motivate HR teams and senior leaders; experience delivering cross-functional programs and retention initiatives. Experience with governance, compliance, and audits relevant to healthcare HR functions. Education/Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required. Master’s degree in human resources or related field preferred.
