Please note; this role is based in Middletown, NJ. Litigation Attorney Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Litigation Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in complex civil litigation, excellent legal research and writing skills, and a proven ability to manage cases independently from inception through trial or resolution. This role requires a dedicated professional with a passion for advocacy and a commitment to achieving favorable outcomes for our clients. Key Responsibilities
Case Management:
Independently manage a diverse caseload, ensuring all deadlines and procedural requirements are met. Pleadings and Motions:
Draft, review, and file various legal documents, including complaints, answers, counterclaims, and complex motions (e.g., motions for summary judgment, motions to dismiss). Discovery:
Oversee and manage all phases of the discovery process, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission. Depositions:
Prepare for and conduct depositions of parties, witnesses, and expert witnesses. Legal Research and Analysis:
Conduct thorough legal research and draft persuasive legal memoranda, briefs, and internal analysis on challenging issues of law. Court Appearances:
Represent clients in court for hearings, conferences, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. Client Communication:
Maintain regular and effective communication with clients, providing clear, strategic advice and updating them on case progress. Negotiation:
Participate in settlement negotiations and mediation to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients. Required Qualifications
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Bar Admission:
Must be an active member in good standing of the State Bar of [Specify State]. Admission to federal courts in the jurisdiction is preferred. Experience:
One or more years of experience as a Litigation Attorney handling civil matters. Skills:
Exceptional legal research, analytical, and writing skills. Strong courtroom presence and oral advocacy skills. Proficiency in managing and utilizing e-discovery platforms and legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis). Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
