Position Overview
The Grants Manager is the
heartbeat of MCEC’s funding portfolio
— making sure proposals go out on time, renewals are seamless, and reports tell the powerful story of how we serve military-connected children and families. This role thrives on
organization, collaboration, and momentum . You’ll coordinate deadlines, write and submit proposals, and ensure compliance — while working closely with the
Director of Development , the Advancement team, and an
AmeriCorps VISTA member
who supports research and prospecting. What makes this role exciting? You’ll use tools like
Asana, Raiser’s Edge NXT, Instrumentl, and AI-enabled drafting platforms
to keep the process smart, fast, and efficient. And you’ll be part of
building a bigger, stronger grants program
— helping MCEC expand our portfolio while maintaining a high win rate. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinate the full lifecycle of grants: renewals, proposals, budgets, compliance, and reporting. Draft, edit, and submit new proposals at scale, with writing support from colleagues and AI tools. Maintain and track deadlines in
Asana
to keep the portfolio on schedule. Use
Raiser’s Edge NXT
and
Instrumentl
to manage prospecting, pipeline tracking, and reporting. Partner with the AmeriCorps VISTA member on prospecting, funder research, and intelligence gathering. Collaborate with Program and Finance teams to align commitments and deliverables. Build and maintain positive working relationships with foundation and agency grant managers. Provide updates, reports, and insights that inform Advancement strategy and showcase program impact. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 2–3 years in nonprofit grants management, fundraising, or contract administration. Strong
project coordination and organizational skills , with experience managing multiple deadlines. Familiarity with
Raiser’s Edge NXT, Instrumentl, and Asana
(or similar CRM and project management tools). Strong writing and editing skills, with attention to compliance and detail. Experience prospecting, drafting, and submitting successful grants. Confidence communicating with funder grant managers. Skilled in using
AI tools and automation
to increase speed and efficiency. A collaborative, team-oriented approach — you enjoy working with others to get big things done. Why Join Us
