Overview
Conducts all flight safety investigations and internal/external flight quality audits. Prepares all external flight quality audits such as FAA, DOD, and various customers to ensure safety audits/inspections are conducted according to established programs. Reviews corrective actions, responses to inspections, and audit findings for adequacy and to guarantee compliance.
Responsibilities
Manage and conduct the Company's flight safety investigations
Ensures safety audits/inspections are conducted according to established programs
Direct the internal flight quality audit program and ensure the audit calendar is followed
Administer and maintain the Company's Emergency Response system (i.e. Veoci)
Conduct drills and training associated with the Company's Emergency Response Plan (ERP)
Assist in developing and maintaining Company flight safety awareness
Conduct flight safety and regulatory compliance audits, inspections, and training
Provide timely recommendations, advice, and assistance on flight and aviation safety matters
Build relationships with internal departments by learning operational challenges they face and reporting to upper management corrective action plans where feasible
Monitor industry flight safety concerns that may have an impact on operations and provide comparisons
Identify positive and negative safety trends
Maintain and update internal flight audit checklists
Prepare all flight audit activities and advise management of any issues prior to an actual audit
Review corrective actions, responses to inspections, and flight audit findings for adequacy
Maintain an on-call status during off-duty hours for screening of safety related events and investigation initiation
Perform tasks as assigned by the Senior Director, Safety
Accomplish other duties as assigned
Qualifications
A suitable four year college degree with an emphasis in Business or Aviation may be substituted for experience
Knowledge of Part 121 airline procedures; Holds a Private Pilot Certificate or higher or an Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate
Must have and be able to demonstrate solid writing and communication skills and organization skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
2-4 years of Airline Safety or Internal/External Audit or Flight Investigation experience preferred.
Experience with Investigation protocols
Experience with technical writing
Experience with emergency management and/or planning
Experience with Auditing (internal & external) and/or Internal Evaluation Programs (IEP)
Special Demands:
Travel will be required, must be able to travel without restrictions with little to no warning
Working during non-traditional hours as needed (nights, weekends, holidays)
Maintain an on-call status and contact-ability during off duty hours for screening of safety related events and investigation initiation
Travel will be required up to 50%, must be able to travel without restrictions.
Must be able to obtain a valid passport as extensive domestic and international travel maybe required.
Salary Range: $117,500 - $158,500
Financial offer within the stated range will be based on multiple factors to include but not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset.
