Project Manager - Demolition & Decommissioning
Assignment Description The Project Manager role is an integral position across all business units and operates in accordance with the vision, mission, values, and strategic objectives of AUSDECOM. The Project Manager is responsible for managing key activities involved in demolition and remediation projects. The position identifies the operational and technical requirements needed for the overall success of the project. Managing people, plans, budgets, safety, procurement, and overall day to day tasks, the position is also dedicated to improving health, safety, environmental and quality performance whilst creating a continuous improvement and harmonious culture which strives for best practice. Promote through hands on leadership, a positive safety culture. Deliver the message at all levels. Management of strict safety compliance with Ausdecom OHSEQ Management Systems. Conduct and record in depth site audits. In particular (AS4801), (ISO14001), (ISO45001) and (IS9001). Assist with investigations and close-out of incidents. Assist team members with problem solving, acting as first escalation point for the project and work crews. Coordinate and conduct site inspections to fulfil project requirements. Prepare tenders to include comprehensive work plans, safety management and environmental plans. Estimating job costs, and compiling bid proposals. Managing project procurement; suppliers and contractors that align with Ausdecom’s value and methodology. Manage project compliance in the way of (insurances, licences, pre-qualifications, and sub-contractor documentation to meet quality standards and legislative requirements. Prepare and compile project specific ‘job packs’ ensuring all relevant, up to date documentation is in place. Including all demolition permits where required. Selecting quality contractors for project works, including cost negotiations. Project forecast reporting. Tracking and managing cost to budget of the project financials. Support the marketing team with promotional material. People Management which includes day to day supervision, performance appraisals and mentoring of on-site personnel. Management of project resource requirements and logistics. i.e., people and plant requirements. Engage and coordinate external consultants (e.g., engineers, scientists, and specialist suppliers; ideally in line with Ausdecom’s Social Procurement Policy. In conjunction with the General Manager, Business Development Manager and Human Resources, mobilise work crews and all relevant personnel for the project. Conduct regular meetings with clients and customers alike, reporting on project status, updates whilst meeting customer and client expectations. Consulting with senior team members and management in planning demolition activities Commercial Management General financials; overseeing claims, contract variations, cost control and track invoicing. Comparing costs vs budget vs revenue and actioning as required. Networking with current clients and potential future clients. Qualifications Required Degree qualified (Project Management) or equivalent relevant ‘on the job’ experience Essential At least 3 years+ in a similar role Essential Excellent written and oral communication skills Essential An excellent understanding of project methodology and standards Essential Strong problem and troubleshooting resolution skills Experience in the demolition, decommissioning, remediation and/or (or similar) sectors Preferable Excellent relationship and people management skills Essential Ability to lead, mentor and elevate the performance of the project Essential Hands-on, action-oriented approach Essential Compliance or management system maintenance experience Essential Understanding of OHS and environmental legislation and regulations Essential Duration Permanent Location Henderson and Perth CBD satellite office
