Overview
Congressional Country Club PGA Teaching Professional Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, is seeking an experienced Teaching Professional to join our golf team. This person will be an integral part of the instructional team, teaching private lessons while assisting in day-to-day operations, including junior golf and group classes. The candidate should have a strong passion for the game, enjoy teamwork, coaching, junior golf, and be a lifelong learner. The Teaching Professional will work directly with the golf team to assist with lessons, junior golf, golf clinics, and teach members of all abilities.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will support the Instructional and Golf teams in growth and excellence.
The candidate must be able to coach players of all abilities and provide golf lessons and club fittings when needed.
The candidate will assist the Junior Golf Director in growing the game through junior golf at Congressional.
The Teaching Professional will assist in the daily operation of Congressional's 8,000 square foot state-of-the-art Performance Center, equipped with a fitting bay and 7 bays for member and instructional use.
It is imperative that the Teaching Professional has a passion for golf, possesses a growth mindset, and is a lifelong learner.

Position Responsibilities A candidate for employment should be able, but not be limited to:
Assist the golf staff in the management of the Performance Center's daily operations
Assist with Junior Golf daily
Teach lessons and assist in clinics for players of all abilities, including adults, juniors, beginners, and ladies
Provide exceptional service before, during, and after lessons with members and follow up
Assist in the day-to-day operation of the golf team
Utilize Trackman and Swing Catalyst software and be proficient with current instructional technology
Contribute to communication between golf instruction and the membership
Maintain effective communication with the Director of Golf and Athletics, Director of Instruction, Junior Golf Director, and the golf and instruction teams
Operational Responsibilities
Maintain equipment and training aids used daily
Manage the practice experience and oversee the Performance Center and practice facilities
Attend all Athletic Department meetings
Report to the Director of Instruction
Assist the Director of Junior Golf, the Director of Instruction, and the Golf team in day-to-day operations
Assist the instructional team with administrative duties as needed
Shadow and learn from instructors on staff
Attend the PGA Show and other industry conferences
Participate in various club-wide team opportunities
Build your network and exposure to other leading operations and professionals
Relationships
Maintain regular, open contact with supervisors and staff instructors to ensure teamwork and consistency in teaching programs
Demonstrate a welcoming personality that reflects favorably on the facility
Knowledge, Skills, and Traits
If an LPGA or PGA Member, maintain PGA membership in good standing and mentor apprentices through the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGM) program
If a PGA Apprentice, make steady progress toward PGA membership requirements
Develop professional expertise through related courses and learning opportunities in golf training, player development, management, and accounting
Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
Self-motivated with a desire to promote and market
Service and customer-focused attitude
Strong written and oral business communications
Knowledge of customer relations management and player development initiatives
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; proficient with email, internet, tournaments, and databases
Maintain a positive professional image within the community

The Club On May 23, 1924, Congressional Country Club opened to more than 7,000 guests for its Gala Opening. The Club began as a place for businessmen and Members of Congress to socialize and has evolved into a family club with facilities for golf, tennis, swimming, bowling, and dining.
Congressional is recognized as a Platinum Club in the Nation. The Club has hosted major championships and continues to engage in national golf events and partnerships with the PGA of America.
The Blue Course underwent a full renovation (2019–2021). The redesigned course provides challenge and enjoyment for golfers of all skill levels. The Club will be opening a world-class Performance Center in the summer of 2022, featuring 7 hitting stations, 2 simulators, and a large practice putting green.
