Counselor Clerk

to support the counseling department and assist in maintaining accurate student records, managing office operations, and ensuring smooth communication between students, parents, and staff. Position Overview

The

Counselor Clerk

provides administrative and clerical support to the school counseling team. This position plays a vital role in helping counselors focus on student needs by managing data entry, scheduling, communication, and recordkeeping tasks. The ideal candidate will be organized, professional, and dedicated to maintaining confidentiality while providing excellent service to students, families, and faculty. Responsibilities

Greet and assist students, parents, and visitors in the counseling office, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment. Maintain and organize student files, transcripts, academic records, and other confidential documents in compliance with FERPA regulations. Schedule student and parent appointments with counselors and coordinate meetings as requested. Prepare and distribute correspondence, reports, and materials related to counseling services. Assist counselors with student scheduling, course request forms, and enrollment documentation. Enter and update student information in the school's student information system (e.g., PowerSchool, JCampus, or equivalent). Support counseling programs and events such as testing, college fairs, workshops, and advisory activities. Manage phone calls, emails, and inquiries directed to the counseling office. Maintain office supplies, filing systems, and digital records. Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall efficiency of the counseling department. Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in office administration, education, or related field preferred. Strong organizational, clerical, and computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information appropriately. Experience working in a school office or with student data systems preferred.
