MGC Contractors, Inc is looking for Project Engineers to join our Arizona Division in the Phoenix metro area.
Responsibilities
General Contract and Subcontract administration
Construction scheduling
Procurement and expediting of material and equipment
Mechanical, electrical and piping systems coordination
Project cost review, reporting, updating, and accounting
Review of subcontractor applications for payment
Participation in project meetings
Supervision/coordination of subcontractors field installations
Review/negotiate change proposal pricing from subcontractors and prepare change proposals for self-performed work
Research and suggest options on construction means, methods and equipment
Develop and maintain effective relationships with owners, vendors, subcontractors
Any and all other duties assigned
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment that routinely uses standard office equipment, with the ability to communicate in person and over the telephone, interpret printed materials and a computer screen, maintain attention to detail, and lift and carry supplies weighing up to 10 pounds.
It also operates at professional construction sites, requiring the ability to communicate verbally on site, read printed materials, signs and directions, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds. The role may require climbing stairs and/or ladders and navigating construction sites in a safe manner.
This position operates in a professional field environment, often outside, frequently for long periods in all weather, including extreme temperatures.
Exposure to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, viruses or other pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, dust/debris, and moving vehicles or machines may occur.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Occasional overtime may be required as job duties demand.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Bachelor degree in Construction Management or related Program required.
Prior construction field experience preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
Effective Communication Skills both oral and written, and quick response time to inquiries.
