Description The Boise Advanced Heart Failure clinic is hiring a motivated and efficient Medical Assistant for our award-winning and growing Heart Institute family. This position primarily supports the Advanced Heart Failure clinic and will occasionally cover other sub-specialties.

Position Highlights

Support fellowship-trained Heart Failure surgeons, other surgeons, cardiologists, APP providers, PAs, and NPs.

Prepare patients for visits, including rooming, vitals, chart prep, collecting medical history, medication review, and EKGs.

Complete prior authorizations, patient calls, and tasks in the in-basket.

Work in a collaborative team environment with strong communication and critical thinking skills.

Experience with cardiac medications, obtaining manual blood pressures, EKG placement, and rhythm knowledge is a plus.

What You Will Do

Support clinical team in the Advanced Heart Failure clinic and occasionally cover other sub-specialties.

Assist with patient intake, history collection, medication review, vitals, EKGs, and rooming.

Handle prior authorizations and inbound/outbound patient communications.

Collaborate with physicians and other care team members to provide high-quality patient care.

Work Schedule 40 hours per week, 4 - 10 hour days, or 5 - 8 hour days, during the week, Monday - Friday.

Location 6140 N. Curtisian Ave. Ste. 300, Boise, ID 83704 (On the Boise Regional Medical Center campus - I-184 and Curtis Road)

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.

New Graduates: 1) MA certificate of completion from an accredited program; 2) completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of externship hours even with MA certification.

Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 year of MA experience OR current MA Certification OR obtain/renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed below.

MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the Saint Alphonsus approved agencies: CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CMAC, NPCE MA.

Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA, ARC or Military Training Network is required at hire.

EMT and CNA certifications do not count towards MA certification.
