This job posting includes duties for Armed Security Police Officers (SPOs) and requires compliance with Post Orders prepared by the Office of Safety and Security for each shift. Responsibilities
Access Control and Package Screening (X-Ray Machine) Personnel screening (Hand Wands / Magnetometers) Traffic control and Visitor processing Vehicle inspection Communications and dispatching Patrol operations Emergency and event response Correctly attired in uniform, equipment, and grooming Qualifications
Must be a United States Citizen Minimum of 1 year of experience in law enforcement, or security, or a combination of both High school diploma or equivalent; collegiate coursework or an AA/AS degree is preferred Current SPO (Armed) license issued by the DC MPD SOMB Pass suitability determination Current 9mm Semi-Automatic Pistol, Qualified card signed and dated by a certified firearms instructor Authorized to carry Pepper Spray (OC) Current CPR/First Aid card (American Red Cross or equivalent) Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills Education & Certification Requirements
High School Diploma / GED DC Armed SPO certification CPR / American Red Cross Certification Baton Handcuffing Tactics and Instruction Additional Information / Benefits
