The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is seeking a Financial Analyst II to join our team of professionals. Duties and Responsibilities
Analyzes and prepares activities for the annual budget and forecasts for the HWCOM in collaboration with the leadership team. Compiles, monitors and analyzes monthly budgetary performance, including budget variances for assigned funding sources. Analyzes and reconciles revenue and deposits, supports schedules, processes and records refunds accordingly. Oversees credit card entries, cash transactions and wire transfers; provides related reporting. Serves as backup for other department functions as needed; cross-trains as required. Adheres to university credit card policies and procedures. Monitors and submits entries to process budget amendments and clear budget exceptions and deficits for assigned HWCOM fund activities. Provides detailed personnel analysis, categorizing by position, department and function; compares to the budget and explains variances. Prepares financial impact analyses of unbudgeted expense requests and prepares summary reports for senior management approval. Reviews HWCOM HR requests relative to the budget, and prepares payroll transfers, changes in allocation, and budget transfers to reflect changes in personnel effort and roles. Handles cash and/or checks for payments owed when needed. Updates financial reports and analyzes trends and variances. Collaborates with the HWCOM Human Resources team to ensure personnel allocations align with budget and forecasts. Performs related duties as required or assigned by supervisor. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with two (2) years of experience in a related field, or a Master’s degree in a related discipline. Desired Qualifications Experience in budgeting, financial analysis and creating financial reports. PeopleSoft knowledge preferred. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs and other functions, financial modeling). Experience in accounting/finance and variance analysis. Job Details
