Engineering Area Manager - Transportation Group (Mountain Region)
STV invites applicants for the Engineering Area Manager role focused on driving strategic growth and market diversification across our Transportation Group throughout the Colorado & Utah Mountain region.
What You’ll Be Contributing To In This Role
Represent STV with clients, the industry, and the broader community across Colorado & Utah.
Work with STV client service team leaders to ensure robust client relationships.
Maintain close professional relationships with key people leaders within transportation agencies, teaming partners, industry associations, and community organizations.
Create and implement plans that align with and achieve STV’s strategic plan objectives.
Identify, recruit, and develop talent to grow the business and ensure a strong succession line for key leadership roles.
Provide effective management of local business activities, including selection of client mix, services offering, adding new clients, winning new work, project execution, hiring locally based personnel, resource planning, and controlling overhead expenditure.
Ensure the operation adheres to STV’s policies and procedures.
Identify, mentor, and train the next generation of future leaders.
Analyze and understand client, business, and industry issues that potentially affect STV’s business in Colorado & Utah, and prepare plans to position STV to capitalize on those trends.
Assess the performance of the STV team members and take action to rectify any shortfalls against expectations and recognize and promote exceptional ability.
Analyze and report on business performance, implement timely measures to address adverse outcomes, and ensure financial goals are achieved.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
Market Experience: 20+ years of experience in Transportation market sectors (Highway, Bridge, Transit, Aviation) with a proven track record in strategic planning, business & client development, operations & financial P&L management.
Educational Background: BS/MS in Engineering.
Professional Registration: Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or Planner (AICP) in Colorado (and preferably additional states).
Market Specialization: Subject matter expert in disciplines such as highway design, structural design, hydraulics, construction management, planning, or Transit.
Multi-Disciplinary Technical Leadership: Proven leader of multi-disciplinary design teams.
Business Growth: Encourage new business, optimize existing client relationships, lead proposals, and grow a team of engineers and planners.
Compensation Range $211,320.25 - $264,150.31
