Key Responsibilities The Staff Accountant position provides timely and accurate preparation, calculation, and reconciliation of various business and departmental processes for our accounting and financial reporting department. The role will perform technical, accounting, and administrative activities required to ensure effective reporting for internal management and external stakeholders. This person will be assisting in day-to-day accounting processes as well as the month-end financial close, interim audits, and ad hoc projects.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, including daily bank reconciliations for multiple entities, and intercompany reconciliations.
Journal entries, estimating accruals, production inventory adjustments, preparing schedules for prepaid and accrual expense amortization.
Manage fixed asset and depreciation schedules in accordance with GAAP.
Assist with month-end close processes, including collaborating with plant operation team members to ensure a complete and accurate month-end close.
Provide support to the AR and AP teams as needed, including helping with problem solving, answering questions, and reconciling intercompany transactions.
Assist with annual financial statement audit and periodic bank audits throughout the year.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
1-2 years of accounting experience required.
Experience with accounting systems or ERP is a plus.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.
Must have a “customer service” mindset.
Must have excellent problem-solving skills, GAAP accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research, and resolution skills.
Must have excellent organizational skills and be detail-oriented.
Ability to clearly communicate across all levels of the organization; written, verbal, and interpersonal.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, multi-task, balance priorities, and meet deadlines.
Ability to work outside normal business hours when necessary.
Must have a team player attitude with a desire to support the company as a whole.
