PrideStaff Financial has partnered with a McKinney, Texas based client in search of a dynamic Staff Accountant to join their growing team. Candidates should possess a minimum of 1-3 years of full-cycle accounting experience and demonstrate a strong commitment to making a meaningful impact in their professional environment. This pivotal role provides the opportunity to work across various industries, accelerate professional development, and contribute directly to the financial success of diversified clients. $40,000-$60,000 base salary (depending on experience) Responsibilities
The Staff Accountant will oversee the core day-to-day accounting functions for multiple clients, prioritizing accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards. Maintain precise general ledgers and record journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to internal controls. Prepare comprehensive account reconciliations, including bank, credit card, and all balance sheet accounts. Assist in processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate entries. Support month-end and year-end closing activities to guarantee accuracy and completeness. Prepare standard financial reports and schedules for review by the Controller or Senior Accountant. Assist with payroll processing and related compliance reporting as required. Collaborate with team members to ensure that all client deliverables are met in a timely manner. Identify and suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy, utilizing accounting technology and automation when feasible. Provide support during audits, tax filings, and special projects as they arise. Qualifications
Solid foundation in accounting principles and practical experience within a business environment. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. One to three years of corporate or business accounting experience. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and fundamental accounting rules. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and/or Xero highly desirable; experience with other cloud-based accounting software is an advantage. Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP functions, and data manipulation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and professionally. Attention to detail, with strong organizational skills and a proven ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and propose corrective actions. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, prioritize deadlines, and thrive in a client-service environment. Seniority Level
