A well-established criminal defense firm in Hartford, Connecticut is seeking an entry-level Associate Attorney to join its criminal and post-conviction division. This is a full-time position offering hands-on litigation experience in courts across the state, mentorship from seasoned attorneys, and the opportunity to build a strong foundation in criminal law practice. Hartford, Connecticut Duties
Represent clients in criminal defense and post-conviction matters Appear in various courts throughout Connecticut for hearings, motions, and trials Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and supporting documentation Meet with clients and attend visits to correctional facilities Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases and strategy development Maintain detailed case files and ensure compliance with legal deadlines Requirements
Licensed to practice law in the State of Connecticut Strong interest in criminal law and courtroom litigation Willingness and ability to travel throughout the state Commitment to learning and professional development in a fast-paced legal environment Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school Certifications
Admission to the Connecticut State Bar (required at time of hire or prior to start date) Skills
