Key Tasks
Process semimonthly payroll for 2 companies, 130+ employees total (hourly non-exempt and salaried exempt) in compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Process employee changes. Verify timesheets, overtime, and PTO; ensure accuracy of employee data Creates pay data batches in automated payroll system and verifies payroll correctness and distributes pay vouchers. Transfers timesheet data to SAP. Processes garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, quarterly/annual tax verifications and workers compensation reports. Updates general ledger with payroll gross to net detail semimonthly. Maintain leave accruals (holiday, sick, vacation) and calculate vacation liability each quarter. Performs year end responsibilities to include vehicle expenses, group term life, moving expenses, other taxable fringe benefits and W2 verification/distribution, adjusting journal entries and schedules for external auditors. Administers health, welfare and 401k retirement plans including enrollment and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll, insurance and retirement plan providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions. Serves as COBRA administrator for the Company. Reviews monthly billings for accuracy, codes and submits to accounting for payment. Resolves discrepancies with
carriers. Completes reports for insurance broker and management as requested.
Coordinates with insurance companies to resolve employee insurance issues. Assist in annual open enrollment period during the 4th quarter of each year. Includes planning and coordinating with insurance broker the open enrollment meeting, sending invitations to employees, distribution of materials, communicating changes to employees /answering questions. Process changes within deadlines. Serve as contact in the benefit audit process. Administer training program in SAP for employees
Key Qualifications
An associate or bachelors degree in human resources, accounting or related fields. 3-5 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration. Experience in using HRISs: Experience using ADP a plus. Experience processing Certified Payroll. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Computer skills to include data entry, Word and Excel. Ability to interact and communicate with all levels within the organization. Provide excellent customer service. Strong initiative, ability to anticipate issues proactively.High level of integrity
