Nurse Manager II, ICU Our client is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Manager II to oversee operations in a high-acuity Intensive Care Unit. This leadership role is responsible for driving clinical excellence, supporting care teams, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes in a dynamic, 24/7 hospital environment. This role is onsite in Redwood City, California. Provide leadership for ICU nursing staff by managing day-to-day operations, staffing, and patient care delivery within a complex acute care setting. Champion evidence-based practices and oversee the implementation of care delivery models that ensure high standards of safety and quality. Serve as a key liaison between nursing teams, physicians, and other departments to coordinate patient care and ensure consistency across the continuum. Address patient or family concerns and ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and policy standards. Oversee resource planning and allocation, including staff scheduling, equipment, and medication management. Drive professional development by mentoring staff, facilitating training, and supporting career growth initiatives. Lead performance management efforts, provide coaching, and implement improvement strategies aligned with hospital objectives. Manage departmental budgets, quality initiatives, and emergency preparedness plans. Ensure the department maintains continuous survey readiness and complies with all regulatory and accreditation standards. Nurse Manager II, ICU Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is required. Current and active Registered Nurse license in the state of California. Minimum of 5 years of recent ICU nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting. At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role such as Assistant Nurse Manager or Nurse Manager. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Strong knowledge of clinical operations, compliance, staff development, and patient safety protocols. Proficient with technology tools and systems, including Microsoft Office and healthcare information systems. Preferred experience includes Neuro ICU and working in a unionized healthcare environment.
