Job Overview
This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional with leadership experience who is passionate about supporting the Tampa community.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting for federal, state, and private grants and contracts.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
- Oversee preparation and review of grant-related journal entries, reconciliations, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements
- Partner with program staff to provide financial data and ensure proper allocation of grant funding.
- Monitor grant budgets, track restricted/unrestricted funds, and prepare variance analyses.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes related to grants and contracts.
- Assist with annual audit requests and provide required schedules and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Nonprofit or grant accounting experience preferred, but not required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with nonprofit accounting systems (e.g., Blackbaud, Sage Intacct, Workday, Banner) a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
