$150,000.00/yr - $190,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Macdonald & Company Macdonald & Company is proud to be partnered with a Jacksonville-based real estate investment and development firm to appoint a Vice President of Asset Management. Our client is an entrepreneurial and mission-driven organization with a several decade long track record of delivering residential communities across the Southeast. With deep institutional capital relationships and a robust pipeline of ground-up developments, the firm is now formalizing its internal asset management function. This newly created role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a growing portfolio of residential assets and build a scalable asset management platform from the ground up. Sitting alongside senior leadership, this individual will be responsible for the financial performance of both development and stabilized assets and will play a key role in strategic reporting, forecasting, and investor engagement. Responsibilities Lead asset management and operational performance across a diversified residential portfolio. Core responsibilities include: Oversight of financial performance across projects in lease-up, stabilization, and post-stabilization phases Budget creation, forecasting, reforecasting, variance analysis, and cash flow management Partner with internal Investor Relations team to deliver recurring reporting and financial updates to institutional equity partners Lead weekly, monthly, and quarterly asset performance reviews; synthesize data into actionable insights and materials for executive leadership Assist in the buildout and refinement of internal reporting infrastructure, including budgeting and dashboard tools (e.g. Vema, Krista) Collaborate cross-functionally with Development, Construction, and IR teams to ensure alignment of goals and project execution Leverage historical and current operational data to support investment decision-making and optimize asset value Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at centralizing institutional knowledge and adopting AI-driven reporting processes Support potential long-term evolution of the function into a broader Operations leadership role Qualifications & Experience 7–10+ years of experience in real estate asset management, with a focus on multifamily and/or student housing preferred Demonstrated track record of driving financial performance across lease-up and stabilized assets Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting skills; expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel Exposure to institutional reporting standards and capital partner engagement Familiarity with asset management or budgeting platforms such as Vema, Yardi, MRI, or similar Entrepreneurial and solutions-oriented, with an ability to operate autonomously and scale processes in a lean, fast-paced environment Intellectually curious, adaptable, and driven by data-informed decision-making Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information for a variety of stakeholders A collaborative mindset with the ambition to build a function and grow alongside the business Seniority level
