Job Overview The Center for Brain Plasticity and Recovery (CBPR) is a research center focused on learning, development, and enhancing recovery from brain injury in children and adults. The Center Manager reports to the Director and plays a key role in maintaining the Center’s infrastructure, funded training programs, outreach, dissemination of research, grant preparation, subcontract management, and day‑to‑day operations.

Responsibilities Oversee the Center’s infrastructure activities and funded training programs. Provide outreach and dissemination of research and academic activities, maintain the CBPR website and brochures. Assist with preparation of grant materials and manage subcontracts for the large grant portfolio. Supervise students and lower‑level staff, including an administrative assistant and student employees. Interact with faculty, donors, foundations, and staff across GUMC and MedStar sites. Perform some day‑to‑day operational activities and administration.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or Ph.D. preferred.

7 years of administrative experience (Bachelor’s) or 5 years (Master’s/Ph.D.) required.

Previous experience in program direction and staff management.

At least 2–3 years in an academic, medical center, or governmental setting.

Strong writing, project management, organizational, and computer skills.

Knowledge of cognitive neuroscience.

Excellent verbal and written communication, highly organized, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Work Mode Remote.

Pay Range $39.60 – $48.40 per hour.
