This Law Enforcement Lieutenant position is in the Office of the Attorney General within the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit in Miami, Florida. Pay
$72,400.00 Annually Qualifications
Florida active certification as sworn law enforcement officer. Three (3) years of sworn law enforcement supervisory work experience. Florida Statute 943.13 requirements: at least 19 years of age (except correctional officers 18), U.S. citizen, high school graduate or equivalent, no felony or misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement, documented fingerprints on file, passed physical examination, good moral character, submitted affidavit, basic recruit training program approved by commission, acceptable score on officer certification examination, comply with continuing training requirements. Preference for candidates with healthcare fraud investigative experience in a Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, five (5) years of sworn law enforcement experience, or five (5) years of work experience conducting healthcare fraud investigations. All newly hired employees must obtain CJSTC Sworn Law Enforcement Certification within three months from the date of hire. The Work You Will Do
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following: 60% Conduct routine and complex investigations of possible Medicaid fraud and/or patient abuse, including interviews, arrests, search warrants, evidence collection, supervision of investigators, report preparation for criminal prosecution, civil actions, and administrative referrals. 20% Review reports for accuracy and completeness, assist investigators with search warrants, arrest warrants, and grand jury presentments. 5% Assist Regional Captain or Regional Chief with field office functions. 5% Assist in the prosecution of Medicaid fraud and/or patient abuse to include courtroom testimony. 5% Investigate, serve subpoenas, execute search warrants, make arrests, conduct law enforcement activity necessary for investigations of Medicaid fraud and patient abuse. 5% Perform other related duties as assigned.
