Role Overview
The Mammography Technologist performs radiographic mammography procedures to detect breast tissue abnormalities. This position is level enough to work independently and applies judgment, creativity, and initiative. Responsibilities
Perform breast imaging procedures, including quality mammography and breast ultrasound, preparing the exam room and obtaining informed consent. Review patient history, select appropriate protocols, and explain examination methods while positioning patients and assessing patient status. Evaluate completed tests for quality and completeness, coordinating images/exams and documentation for physician partners. Document patient information accurately, communicate physician instructions or ancillary caregiver observations, and ensure safe and effective hand‑off between shifts. Monitor equipment reliability, report issues, and maintain work environment by ordering supplies, cleaning rooms, and transporting patients as needed. Apply radiation protection techniques, participate in quality initiatives, and maintain patient satisfaction and workflow. Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited American Registry of Radiologic Technology program (required). American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) certification, required. ARRT (M) credential within 18 months of hire (required). Radiologic Technologist state licensure, required (if applicable). Health Care Provider Life Support certification, required. Preferred Qualifications
ARRT (BS) or ARDMS, preferred. One year diagnostic radiology experience, preferred. Previous breast imaging experience, strongly preferred. Physical Requirements
Lifting, manual dexterity, pulling/pushing, seeing, speaking, standing, walking. Benefits
