Senior Software Safety Engineer
for an opportunity in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Position description
The
Senior Software Safety Engineer in Aerospace Controls
collaborates with other teams and customers to develop electrical, electronics and mechatronics control system safety work products such as: System Safety and Reliability Assessment, Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) or Common Cause Analysis (CCA)
Works with a cross-functional team to establish the highest standards of technical capability, quality, professionalism, and teamwork
Provides and supports engineering and process guidance, training and creates documentation
Prepares and reviews engineering work products for technical documentation, quality, completeness
Resolves complex problems through the application of acquired technical experience and knowledge
Develops and communicates complex technical ideas and information in a concise and logical way
Basic requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with 5+ years of product development engineering experience
Experience with aerospace safety certification
Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities
5+ years of product safety engineering experience
Software development or system safety analysis
Application of agile development methods to deliver engineering work products
Experience with military qualification and/or FAA certification of airborne systems
Familiarity with the one or more of the following standards: ARP4754, ARP4761, MIL-STD-882, MIL-STD-1629, DO-178C, DO-254, AMCOM 385 and IEE 1633-2016
Gas turbine engine, propulsion, or electrical control system experience
Demonstrated experience with control system design and one or more of the following tools: Fault Tree+, Reliability Workbench, DOORS, Cameo Systems Modeler
Knowledge of systems engineering, and robust design tools and techniques coupled with the latest model-centric development approaches
