AVP, Consumer Bank Product Owner – Digital API
Join the Synchrony Digital Bank team as a Product Owner focused on leading the implementation of new API features and enhancements for our consumer banking products. This role requires an agile‑trained product owner with strong technical acumen and experience working with API teams.
Essential Responsibilities
Identify business needs and translate them into business requirements and user stories for the API teams.
Provide technical consultation and direction to stakeholders and Technical Product Owners to shape decisions.
Ensure technical implementation meets business requirements and business rules in collaboration with Technical Product Owners.
Deep dive into complex technical systems and recommend new technology trends and innovative products/features.
Lead backlog planning, grooming, and release planning as part of the Agile Development Team and Scrum Master.
Coordinate and lead user acceptance testing (UAT) for releases and manage defects, SLA issues, and user inquiries.
Partner with UX to create screen prototypes, gather feedback, and optimize performance.
Work with key stakeholders (Marketing, IT, Compliance, Credit/Risk, and Operations) to prioritize future features and manage the product backlog.
Collaborate with Digital Analytics to monitor usage patterns and utilize tools such as Omniture, GA, and Splunk.
Qualifications / Requirements
8+ years of experience as a Product Owner within a consumer banking organization.
4+ years of digital product owner experience and 2+ years of API and/or services management.
Bachelor’s Degree (or high school equivalent with experience).
Strong communication skills and proven ability to deliver on time.
Experience with Agile and/or SAFe in a product owner role.
Benefits and Compensation
Salary range: $90,000 – $155,000 USD annual, eligible for an annual bonus.
