Position Assistant Store Manager

Job Type: Full Time, Exempt (Bonus Eligible)

Location: 107-18 70th Road, Forest Hills, NY 11375

The candidate must have open availability on weekdays, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnights.

Who You Are As an Assistant Store Manager, you will assist the Store Manager in helping develop, lead, and motivate a team to deliver an exceptional customer experience that supports building brand loyalty and achieving financial targets. You will serve as Manager on Duty as assigned, represent Curaleaf as a brand ambassador, and provide top‑notch customer service and product education.

What You’ll Do

Proactively communicate with Store Manager, District Manager, and Cross‑functional Partners to maximize revenue opportunities.

Model selling behaviors aligned with our brand culture to support building loyal customer relationships and delivering key financial targets.

Monitor and analyze the customer service provided by team members, offering feedback and coaching.

Share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful guest experience.

Supervise store operations and team members—opening/closing, shift changes, task delegation, and scheduling.

Control store money, including register counts, withdrawals from the bank, armored car pickups, safe deposits, change orders, and oversee all aspects of bookkeeping.

Analyze inventory trends and supervise inventory management—ordering items, keeping stock, and leveraging company resources to avoid outs and overstock.

Maintain knowledge of all computer and technology systems and software (e.g., registers, LeafLogix).

Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.

Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned, including assisting team members as needed.

Willing to travel to other locations for training and/or coverage.

Travel Requirements: 10% - 25%.

Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

Minimum of 1 year of experience in retail and/or customer service in a high‑paced selling environment.

Minimum of 1 year of retail supervisory experience.

Strong sense of business acumen and the ability to measure success through financial targets and other key performance indicators.

Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Willingness to work a flexible schedule including extended days, evenings, and weekend hours.

Previous experience working in a heavily regulated industry.

Strong leadership skills; ability to build and manage teams.

Strong salesmanship skills and experience in driving revenue.

Strong experience and attention to detail in cash handling and POS operations.

Demonstrated desire for continued learning and the ability to effectively share information with broad audiences.

Ability to work independently and take initiative to run the business in the absence of the Store Manager.

Previous experience in the cannabis industry.

Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, use hands and finger to feel, reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 25 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, and lift up to 50 pounds. This position requires close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).

Work Environment This job operates in a professional retail environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, POS systems, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The position has allergen warnings including potential exposure to dust, pollen, and plant pathogens and requires the ability to work in confined spaces, have a high stress tolerance, adaptability, and be flexible to work in an ever‑changing environment.
