Assistant Store Manager

The candidate must have open availability on weekdays, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnights. The candidate must be able to travel to other locations for training and/or coverage. Assist the Store Manager in developing, leading, and motivating a team to deliver an exceptional customer experience that supports brand loyalty and achieves financial targets. Operate as the Manager on Duty as assigned by Store Management and represent Curaleaf as a brand ambassador by providing top-notch customer service and educating guests on products. Proactively communicate with the Store Manager, District Manager, and cross-functional partners to maximize revenue opportunities. Model selling behaviors aligned with brand culture to build loyal customer relationships and meet key financial targets. Monitor and analyze customer service, provide feedback and coaching to team members. Share customer service best practices to deliver a distinctive guest experience and uphold Curaleaf service traits. Supervise store operations and the team, including opening/closing, shift changes, task delegation, and scheduling. Oversee cash handling, banking activities, safe deposits, change orders, and bookkeeping tasks (ledgers, invoices, cash reports, and time records). Learn and supervise inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and using company resources to avoid outs and overstock. Maintain knowledge of computer and technology systems and software (e.g., registers, LeafLogix). Comply with company policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers. Complete special assignments and assist team members as needed; willing to travel for training and coverage. Perform other duties as assigned. What You’ll Bring
Minimum of 1 year of experience in retail and/or customer service in a high-paced selling environment. Minimum of 1 year of retail supervisory experience. Strong business acumen with ability to measure success through achievement of financial targets and KPIs. Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. Willingness to work a flexible schedule including extended days, evenings, and weekend hours. Previous experience in a heavily regulated industry. Strong leadership skills and ability to build and manage teams. Strong salesmanship skills with experience driving revenue. Strong experience and attention to detail in cash handling and POS operations. Desire for continued learning and ability to effectively share information with broad audiences. Ability to work independently and take initiative; empowered to run the business in the absence of the Store Manager. Even Better If
Previous experience in the cannabis industry. Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 25 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, and lift up to 50 pounds. This position requires close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less). Work Environment
This job operates in a professional retail environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, POS systems, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This position has allergen warnings including potential exposure to dust, pollen, and plant pathogens and requires the ability to work in confined spaces, have a high stress tolerance, adaptability, and be flexible to work in an ever-changing environment.
