About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker (LMSW/LCSW) to join our Behavioral Health team. The Social Worker provides individual psychotherapy to patients and members of families of choice, family/couple and group psychotherapy, conducts assessments, provides crisis intervention and refers patients appropriately.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive behavioral health services within LMSW/LCSW scope of practice Conduct assessments and facilitate appropriate referrals Deliver crisis intervention services as needed Deliver individual, family/couple and group psychotherapy Collaborate with behavioral health management, psychiatry providers, primary care providers and care coordinators Maintain productivity standards through patient scheduling and monitoring Participate in program development and quality improvement initiatives Write letters for patients seeking gender‑affirming surgery as appropriate Participate in agency on‑call services Provide clinical, administrative and documentation supervision to staff as assigned Work a 35‑hour work week requiring a clear productivity expectation of 31‑32 individual patient contact hours weekly

Work Schedule

Full‑time Monday through Friday. The position includes some evening hours and a temporary hybrid schedule (2‑3 days onsite).

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Work and NYS licensure – LMSW or LCSW required 1+ years post‑Master’s clinical experience with adults and groups preferred Experience with NYS Article 28 outpatient practice setting preferred Knowledge of LGBT‑ and HIV‑related health/mental health issues and concerns Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills Computer literacy required; experience with EPIC charting system Commitment to the mission of Callen‑Lorde Community Health Center Ability to work with diverse populations and handle multiple simultaneous tasks Team‑focused and calm under stress; strong attention to detail
