Responsibilities
Specify, design, validate, and bring new products to market.
Specify functional requirements; test and integrate components to produce final designs; evaluate cost, reliability, risk, and safety.
Work with multiple engineering groups to develop and evaluate system fitness‑for‑use testing, product specifications, and process validation plans.
Collaborate with manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers, and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability.
Provide CAD or CAE system modeling input for new designs.
Support product development plans, schedules, and cost targets.
Mentor and train less experienced engineers.
Travel to other Generac facilities as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
7+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Detail‑oriented work with high accuracy on multiple projects.
Engine design/development experience focused on application engineering.
Experience with engine integration in an application.
Cross‑functional collaboration to meet all engine requirements.
Knowledge of fuel, control, intake, cooling, and exhaust systems.
Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
Ability to translate technical information to all audiences.
Experience with machine design.
Proficiency in MS Excel, Word; experience with SAP or ERP.
